Most nutrition plans are built on consistency.

But your body isn’t consistent — it’s responsive.

The foundation

Understanding your macros.

Before any adjustment, you need a solid foundation. Your results come down to three components.

01

Protein

Supports muscle, recovery and metabolism. Your anchor macro, kept consistent from day to day.

02

Carbohydrates

Fuel energy, performance and strength. Demanding sessions need carbohydrate behind them — how much is individual, and depends on the work you are actually doing.

03

Fats

Support hormones, satiety and overall health. Enough matters; the right amount for you depends on your intake, appetite and goals rather than on a phase.

Your numbers

Where your numbers actually come from.

Not from a phase, and not from a table on a website. There is no single calorie or macro target that fits everyone, so ASCEND does not publish one.

What they are built from

Your individual context

  • What you are currently eating, and what you enjoy eating
  • Your goals, appetite and symptoms
  • The training demand you are actually under
  • How you are sleeping and recovering

Where they are set

The two-hour initial assessment — CA$150

  • Your starting point is measured, not assumed
  • Protein, carbohydrate, fat and total intake are set for you
  • They are adjusted as we learn what works
  • Medical dietary needs go to a registered dietitian
Adapting to your cycle

Track the pattern. Then adjust for it.

If you choose to track cycle symptoms, that information is useful — it tells us when a session needs adjusting and when it does not. What it never does is set your intake for you, because your cycle is not the only thing your body is responding to.

Menstrual

Food intake that supports your own goals and training demands.

Follicular

Enough carbohydrate for demanding sessions, protein across the day.

Ovulatory

Fuel for the session you actually have planned.

Luteal

Satisfying meals and enough food for your training.

No phase requires more or fewer calories, carbohydrates or fat of everyone. Timing varies between people and between months; the plan follows your readiness, not a date.

How to build your meals

Every meal: protein + carb + fat.

You don’t need to eat the same foods every day — you just need to hit your structure. Build meals from simple, high-quality staples.

Protein

Chicken · Turkey · Lean ground beef · Salmon · Eggs & egg whites · Greek yogurt · Cottage cheese · Protein powder

Carbs

Rice · Potatoes & sweet potatoes · Oats · Bread & wraps · Fruit · Rice cakes

Fats

Avocado · Nut butter · Olive oil · Nuts & seeds · Whole eggs

Extras

Vegetables · Seasonings & sauces · Fermented foods · Dark chocolate · Electrolytes

Keep it simple — consistency comes from simplicity.

Supplement support

Supplements don’t replace your foundation — they support it.

Daily foundations

  • Protein powder — hit protein targets consistently
  • Creatine — discuss whether it suits your training and health
  • Supplements are optional and depend on individual needs

Cycle support

  • Food and fluid intake come first
  • Ask a clinician or pharmacist about supplement interactions

Start with the basics — more isn’t better, consistency is.

Nourish your body — adapt with it.
